The 2020 WeatherTech Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints are in the books. Jason competed in the Prototype 1 class this weekend in his #8 Kohler Powered Wynnfurst entry. The sprints feature a double header weekend for competitors with a race on Saturday and Sunday. With the Sprints being part of the Hoosier Tire Super Tour AND Road America playing host to the 2020 SCCA National Championship Runoffs, there were over 500 entries this year! And our Prototype 1 class saw some stiff competition.
In the Saturday, June 13 race, Jason started in the 5th position and brought home a 4th place finish. In the Sunday, June 14 race, Jason started in the 4th position and brought home a 2nd place finish. The Kohler Engine ran flawlessly all weekend, our Hoosier Tires were great. Jason struggled with finding the right handling of the car all weekend but drove the wheels off in both races. As I write this, the team is already sorting through data from the weekend to see what changes / improvements can be made for the next race.
No rest for the team, we are back at Road America next weekend for the SVRA Vintage Festival. It was great to see fans this weekend at the Sprints and we hope to see more of you at the SVRA Vintage Festival this weekend.
