The 2021 WeatherTech International Challenge at Elkhart Lake's Road America is complete. Wynfurst Racing had three cars in this annual historic classic. Jeff Miller in his #0 Kohler Powered T496 Lola, Ron Pace in his #6 Kohler Powered T492 Lola and John Goeden in his #9 Kohler Powered P2 Lola. Saturday played host to a qualifying race which set the grid for Sunday's feature race.
In the Saturday Qualifying Race Jeff finished 1st in the HBSR class. Though Ron's car is a very similar racecar to Jeff's, it was in the HCSR class this weekend and not in the same class as Jeff. Ron finished 1st in the HCSR qualifying race. John Goeden was also in the HCSR class this weekend and finished 3rd in class in the qualifying race.
The Sunday Feature Race was a great show! Great racing throughout the field of 42 cars across multiple classes. Jeff finished 2nd in class in today's race. He was battling for second overall when the door closed abruptly on a pass he was trying to complete allowing another competitor to get by as he went wide off track. Unfortunately, that other competitor was also in the HBR class and relgated Jeff to 2nd. Still a great result and great to see him competing up front all race long. John brough home a 1st in class finish in the HCSR field. Congratulations to John on a great race. Ron finished 2nd in the HCSR class.
Overall, it was a great weekend for Wynnfurst Racing! Thank you to the many fans that came out Friday night to the parade and the concours. Thank you to all the fans that came to the track and stopped by to say hi. Really nice to see such a strong showing of fans for Vintage Car Racing.
Next up for Wynnfurst Racing is the Ariens Art on Wheels VSCDA Vintage Weekend at Road America.
